The Station



Hamilton is the heart of Australia's wool industry and home to "SheepVention", a showcase of the industry held annually, attracting 25,000 visitors over two days each August.

3HA serve one of the wealthiest agricultural districts of Australia. As well, the region has a strong beef industry and broad acre farming sector. Manufacturing, construction and heavy industry includes the Portland Smelter, the Iluka mineral sand mine at Balmoral and the mineral separator plant in Hamilton, all of which are significant employers in the region.

The region enjoys a healthy tourism industry with the Grampian Mountains and the Great Ocean Road attracting visitors throughout the year as do the popular tourist centres of Port Fairy and Portland.



The Station

981 3HA covers Western Victoria including Hamilton, Dunkeld, Halls Gap, Casterton, Penshurst and Heywood. 



3HA has a golden history with Western Victoria dating back to 1931.

Throughout the years many Great names have passed though 3HA including Malcolm Fraser, Dan Lonergan, Barry Bissell, Shane Healy and Rob Waters.


3HA Started broadcasting from a large building on the corner of Gray and Kennedy St, Hamilton, the building actually included its own theatrette. 3HA remained in that location until 1975 when a fire ripped through the building and destroyed it. 3HA moved to its present location in Brown St Hamilton in 1976 and underwent extensive renovations in 2002.

 We're part of the ACE Radio Network, Victoria's largest regional broadcaster.
